Properties:

Yellow or brown powder, specific gravity: 1.44, soluble in tetrahydrofuran and heat propanone, insoluble in petroleum ether, chloroform, benzene and water, melting point: higher than 195°C.

Uses:

Being a kind of multifunctional rubber vulcanizing agent, PDM is used as vulcanizing agent and cocuring agent for peroxide system in rubber process. It is also used as antiscorching agent and viscosity increaser. It is not only applicable to all-purpose rubber, but also specialty rubber and the combination system of rubber and plastic.

In natural rubber, when used together with sulfur, it can prevent sulfuration from reversing, perfecting heat and oxidantion resistance, reducing pyrogenesis, improving the adhesion between rubber and tire cord and the modulus of vulcanized rubber. When used in shoulder rubber and cushion breaker for lorry tire, it solve the difficult question of shoulder hollow for oblique lorry tire. It is also used in thick products of natural rubber and other rubber sundry goods.

When used as cocuring agent in neoprene rubber(CR), chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber(CSM), styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR), acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber(NBR), isoprene rubber(IR), butyl rubber(IIR), bromobutyl rubber, acrylic rubber(ACM), silicon rubber(SI) and other rubbers, PDM can effectively improve correlation performance and heat resistance. It is applicable to high-temperature vulcanization system showing effective effect on reducing permanent compression deformation and the use amount of peroxide, preventing gross rubber from scorching during process, improving the adhesion strength between gross rubber and tire cord or metal.

PDM is a kind of sulfurless vulcanizing agent. When used in cable rubber, it can substitute for sulfurized vulcanizing agent such as thiazole type, thiuram and other, which solve the blackening of copper wire and copper electronic appliance because they contact with sulfurized vulcanizing agent to produce copper sulfide.

Dosage:

0.5-1.0 portion when used as antiscorching agent, 2-3 portion when used as vulcanizing agent, 1.5 portion when used as compression deformation improving agent, 0.5-5.0 portion when used as adhesion strength improving agent.
